Know Wonder

SPOONERISMS
a verbal error in which a speaker switches the initial sounds or letters of two or more words, often to humorous effect. Named for Oxford don, W. Archibald Spooner, who regaled his students with them.

MALAPROPISMS
the mistaken use of a word in place of a similar-sounding one, often to comedic effect. Popularized by the comedic character, Mrs. Malaprop, in Richard Sheridan’s play, The Rivals (1775), still performed today.

Kangaroo Words
Words with a synonym inside! The word inside is called a “joey” = baby kangaroo
