Patsie McCandless Light lessons: How Do I Get My Abundance?

Accessing Abundance

You want abundance? Get into the stream of abundant energy. How to do that?

Some think it is in hard work, nose-to-the-grindstone, sweat and supreme effort. As I wrote in last week’s blog, there are puzzle pieces to finding your abundance. Yet it is always available to you within something you may already know: prayer and mediation.

Prayer and Meditation

Prayer and meditation are energy. Both streams of the same abundant energy. They both often use repetition, that is, saying the same words over-and-over again. This can be a way into the state of being that allows an emotional and spiritual connection.

The astonishing piece of this puzzle is in the physical changes that transpire from practicing prayer and meditation. As Larry Culliford discusses in “Spiritual Wisdom for Secular Times: prayer is a biologically physical event.” The body becomes still and silent.

Silent Energy

Some might say, Big Schmoo, I’m still and silent when I’m on my digital device.

No. That’s not it. The kind of still silence that derives from prayer and meditation is a true focus, which allows the mind to quiet and the whole body to BE – in the moment. In itself, it is quite a rich reward to enter that state of being.

Biology of Prayer and Meditation

What is happening to your body in the still, silent state of being?

Inside your brain, the electric energy waves change, and the two hemispheres “talk” to each other in a balanced, compatible, harmonious way. This is amazing, because each hemisphere of your brain is so distinctly opposite.

Left and Right Brain

The Left brain is the usual communicator – orally speaking-out your ideas; it is logical and rational; ii is often ‘bossy’ and ego-driven, as Betty Edwards describes in hilarious detail in her iconic book, “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain”; and the Left brain is very ‘worldly’ – that is, it pays attention to the physical trappings in which you live – your relative wealth or lack therein.

The Right brain is silent; intuitive; creative in artistic, musical, and expressive, poetic modes of language; and it is selfless and altruistic.

In prayer and meditation these two complete opposites actually play with each other!

Benefits of Prayer and Meditation

The first thing you may notice when you begin to practice prayer and meditation is that the toxic build-up of negative energy dissolves. It is a muted sensation, like a quiet revelation. You are suddenly aware that you are breathing, and you are not feeling that heavy sense of anxiety.

The Power of Anxiety and the Power of Inner Peace

I know a woman who was grieving deeply after the loss of her beloved husband. She joined a group that practiced all forms of meditation: sitting, standing, walking, eating – and meditating at the same time – all in the stillness of silence. This helped her to understand that the pure state of Beingness is available at all times. The more she practiced, the more her dark anxieties simply evaporated. She felt, oh, so light and filled with peace. Filled with Inner Light.

That is the highest and best piece of this puzzle: she now owned the feeling of true inner peace and joy.

It is YOU… connecting with the Divine. This is the ultimate puzzle piece – again, a Keystone puzzle piece. It is in your connection with the divine, infinite universe – God – Source – Energy… with your…
