Puzzle Pieces

Life is a puzzle. Our pieces fit together in experiences and encounters, and our full picture emerges piece by piece.

At Christmas time, we lay out a puzzle, and everyone takes a turn fitting the little jigsaw pieces together. It is time-suspended, when we are completely ourselves, deeply engrossed in the “play” of it.

Yes, there are certain little tricks to it, such as finding all the edge pieces first, then sorting the remaining pieces by color. But it is the play-time that lights us up, and, as the noted anthropologist, George Dorsey, wrote:

“Play is the beginning of knowledge.”

Energies

Isn’t Life itself a puzzle! And we get to play with it! We sort through it, making sense of our pieces and engrossed in fitting them together. In Life, each piece is filled with the combined energies of ourselves and the Universe. When we resonate with the energy, all the pieces fall into place.

Every single piece of our life puzzle moves, in the flow of energy. We just have to learn how to play with each puzzle piece and let our energies slide them into place. We can think of our experiences as jigsaw pieces, that really do fit together perfectly, transforming the separate pieces into the picture of our lives.

GIVING & RECEIVING

The first two fundamental pieces of our Life puzzle are GIVING and RECEIVING. They always fit together perfectly. Giving is a constant energy, always streaming through us when we impart, or transmit or communicate our very thoughts.

Whether you know it or not, you are constantly Giving: for you give with your every thought, word, action; and these return to you in your Receiving mode. Everything you put out into the world comes back to you in everything you experience or encounter.

Boomerang

If you give Light, like kindness, you get-back Light-filled kindness. If you give dark, like dishonesty, you get-back dark dishonesty. You choose your thoughts – dark or Light. If you give beautiful grace, you receive beautiful grace. You Give-out, you Receive-back.

Electric energy

Everything you speak –  and everything you do – begins with your thought, which springs to life as an electric pulse. You are constantly Giving-out your thought, and it charges into your life as an electric idea.

 Focus

Most of the time you are not aware of this process. It happens at the speed of light. But when you pay attention and focus your thoughts you can almost feel the electric impulse.

Becoming

You may “see” your thought in your mind’s eye, envisioning your idea, and watching it becoming, as your thoughts transform into images, that you then name with your words.

Think about this amazing process: something ethereal manifests… into a word, speech, or writing. Non-physical,  intangible thought becomes manifest in this tangible, physical world.

Sometimes you have a powerful experience that directs your focus so that you are completely aware and perceiving this becoming.

Physical World

My husband and I enjoy listening to radio broadcasts of concerts, many of which are performed at Saint Martins-in-the-Fields at Trafalgar Square in London. When we traveled to England, we played with our wonderful, Giving-out thoughts pre-paving the way for every experience we Received-back.

We were excited to get tickets to the Vivaldi Four Seasons concert to be played in that very church. A wonderment awaited us at the top of the ancient stairway leading to the portico of St. Martin’s. There, a massive block of white marble stood, gleaming in the sunlight. It was a sculpture created for the Millenium by Michael Chapman. I stretched to see what was sculpted in the glittering white textures on the top. It was a life size baby… a beautiful newborn baby, lying in the rugged, cut stone. A quote from the Gospel of St. John was inscribed around the base:

“In the beginning was the word

and the word became flesh

and lived among us”.

I stared, enthralled, at the writing:  “…the WORD became flesh…”

Revelations

I was agog. My shoulders shook in a shiver of resonance… recognition… revelation. It felt like a shining puzzle piece had fallen into place… perfectly, smoothly, powerfully. My old bits and pieces of thought drifted through my consciousness and now, suddenly, fit together: Transformation is real. As real as we are, here on this earth.

I had long percolated these notions, about how seemingly “nothing”  – like an ethereal, intangible thought – can transform into something tangible. I have enjoyed thinking about how every single thing on earth first began as a thought – an idea: from the wheel, to vehicles, to airplanes, to rockets – all were first a thought. Each thought transforms from the non-physical idea into a physical creation – a manifestation in our world.

Receiving

I think I was agog at the feeling of streaming energies that truly charged into my life. It felt electric! I received. I got back my inner thoughts and wonderings in an answer. Perhaps it was just for me.

Beginning the Puzzle
