The Magic World of Nature - Light Lessons with Patsie McCandless

The Freedom of Light and Quiet

in the Magic, Healing World of Nature

In the magic world of Nature you are free, quiet, still, reawakening your soul, healing your physical being, your mind, and your heart. Be quiet, be still, be connected. Free. And let your soul BE.

Wonderful, wise words. But how on earth am I supposed to be quiet and still in this noisy, chaotic world?

Precisely!

You go out! Outside. Go out into the earth’s beautiful, bountiful, world of Nature.

Magic in the Quiet World of Nature

A garden, a wood, a meadow, a river, a lake, the ocean. It is here that you can be free. You can be still. Look. Listen.

It is your Magic. Revealing the poise, the stillness within you.

You will feel it all. Slowly… gradually… it seeps in. And you know… the magical enchantment.

Magically Free and Connected in Nature

Birds, especially, show off their magic. They are free. In song, in flight, nest-building or foraging. It is as if they are always connected. At one with the Divine. They are not thinking. Nor do they reason. They are simply in the present moment… moment by moment.

This is the poise you desire.

The Magic of Light in Nature’s Wood and Meadow

Very often you notice the light. In the woods. How the light changes, dapples, moves… creating brightness, creating shadows. How the light treats your eyes to the dogwood blossoms fluttering in the breezy sun… now cream-colored… now bleached to a dazzling white. Leading your eyes upward to the gargantuan, spreading White Sycamore, like a brilliant sentinel of the wood. Glorious. Yes!

The Magic of Light in Water

Not only in the wood or meadow, but by the water you notice the light! Lauren Eisley, the eminent anthropologist and author, wrote:                                                “If there be magic on this planet, it will be found in water.”

Yes! Magic!

On the open water, the light creates swaths of sparkling water diamonds, or, rolling mists of fog glistening in the wind. There is, too, the tiny stream of water that suddenly appears from the depths of the earth… bubbling brightly over sandy pebbles, glistening over slippery, smooth rocks. Sparkling in astonishing lights. Revealing new places of awe and wonder… most assuredly, in you.

It is the majesty of Light in Nature. Finding its way.

Magic in Nature

And so you feel. You know. Once again. Free. Unhurried. Peaceful. There is no preparing for your next step. No urgency. It’s almost as if there is no gravity. It is your soul floating free. You are not only in the present moment… you are the present moment.

When You Are Disconnected

The world to which we will return is filled with a very different activity, especially through electronics and media. It is a world filled with disconnects. You are encumbered and impeded by disconcerting tech, especially in all the Pavlovian noises – dings and rings and pops and clicks that steal away your beautiful connection. When that beautiful moment is swept away, the magical moment is gone. Yet, how you yearn for it, perhaps subconsciously, or perhaps very actively. Seeking. Searching. We all want the magic of our souls back.

Reawakened and Free Again in the Magic of Nature

The magic of your soul is waiting for you, here in Nature. Here there is a truth that says you are not separate; you are one in the natural order. This encompassing inclusion is euphoric, and your elation rises into the ethers of intense, yet quiet, elation, joy, delight, bliss, love. Your eyes are new again and you take in everything around you in genuine love. Not only for the flowers and plants and trees, the squirrels and chipmunks and deer, but also for the spider or the snake. All the living things – something of everything here – enlightened, living, thriving.

Last week I wrote about manifesting magic and miracles. Same idea, same message.

Go out. Outside. Go out into earth’s beautiful, bountiful world of Nature.

Yes, there are times when trying to understand this is not always easy. But it is worth it.

As Lao Tzu writes in the Tao Te Ching:

“Trying to understand is like straining through muddy water.

Have the patience to wait!

Be still and allow the mud to settle.”

Patience… in Nature… with your…

Light On!
